WELCOME TO THE
Beta Reader Collective
ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BECOMING A BETA READER?
At a certain point in the writing process (after many revisions), I need to get some more eyes on my manuscript. This is where beta readers come in!
As applications open, I'll be looking for a specific kind of reader for each manuscript to ensure a good fit for the particular story.
If you think you'd make a good fit as a beta reader for my manuscripts, please express your interest below!

What is a beta reader?
Usually, the writer is too close to a story (I definitely am) and needs a beta reader to give their thoughts and feedback on the draft of a manuscript from a reader's perspective. Betas are avid readers of the genre of manuscript and are able to offer valuable insight on the story as a whole, characters, writing style, plot, voice, and sometimes things the writer may have missed. This feedback is used to make final revisions to the manuscript before it's sent off. The purpose of a beta reader is not to 'fix' the book, but to give insight on the emotional reaction from a reader's perspective.
What makes a good beta reader?
A beta reader is an avid reader (obviously) who can read a manuscript relatively quickly, and can succinctly give written feedback. A good one will have an eagle-eye when it comes to details, and can pick up on potential plot holes or things that may be missing, in a way that is constructive and helpful. If you love to give feedback on books you've read in places like Goodreads, then beta reading might be a great time for you!

Sounds fun!
Where do I sign up?
If you've stuck around this long, and are excited about the prospect of joining the beta reading group, fill in your details below to receive some detailed information on the project, a timeline for the process, and an application form. Of course, if after you've read through the document and decide it isn't for you that's absolutely fine! As I realistically can only take on a handful of beta readers at a time, sadly I won't be able to take everyone who has applied. As much as I would like to. But there's always the next manuscript!
